Leicester motor racing driver Stephen Jelley has won round eight of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Oulton Park.
The 29-year-old, whose previous race win this season came at Brands Hatch in round two, is now 14 points behind leader James Sutton.
Sutton has 140 points, second-placed Michael Meadows had 130 and Jelley has 126 points in third.
Jelley told BBC Radio Leicester: "That race was won off the start. I built a gap and looked after the tires."
The Leicester driver powered ahead at the start and won the race in difficult wet conditions with a faultless drive.
"I saw the gap and tried to be careful," added Jelley, who used the damp patches of the circuit to try and keep his tyres cool.
"I wasn't sure how the tyres would work because we've had no experience of them in the wet this season.
"It was the first time I drove the car in the wet and I won."
