King's Lynn Stars boss Rob Lyon has called on his side to maintain their early season form.

Despite being the Elite League new boys the Norfolk outfit are sitting second in their first season back in the top flight for nine years.

"You don't get anything for finishing second halfway through the season," Lyon told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"Our aim is the play-offs, it's realistically possible for us and it's what we've got to aim for."

After taking an away point from league leaders Eastbourne on Saturday, the Stars are next in action on Wednesday when they host travelling Belle Vue.

"To drop any points at home to Belle Vue, with all due respect to them, would be a disappointment for me and I think the team as well," said Lyon.

"We have to treat them with respect, we know they're a good team but we're fully focused in trying to maintain that form and getting three points."
