A rare away win means Plymouth Devils will approach the remainder of the speedway season with new confidence, according to owner Mike Bowden.
The Devils beat Redcar 47-43 on Friday night, after trailing 34-38 with just three heats remaining.
It was only their third victory in 16 meetings during a torrid 2011 Premier League season.
"It felt fantastic to win, there was a real buzz around the place, we haven't had that for a while," Barker said.
"It's been a very tough start to the season but we've got a lot of matches left and have to stay positive and hope we can climb off the bottom of the table."
Ben Barker top-scored with a maximum 15-point return from his five rides, with Jesper Kristiansen scoring 11+1.
