Swindon Robins team manager Jan Staechmann has hailed the impact of new signing Sergey Darkin.
The Russian World Cup star was drafted in as a reserve rider on Monday and notched eight points in the Robins' 47-43 win over Peterborough on Thursday.
"He's certainly put a bit of stability towards the lower part of the team and that's what we were looking for," Staechmann told BBC Wiltshire.
"He brings colour to the team and goes full-tilt out on the track."
Staechmann was also quick to praise the track staff at the Abbey, who have come in for some criticism in recent weeks.
The Robins have struggled for results this season and currently sit bottom of the Elite League standings.
Last month owner Gary Patchett criticised the condition of the track and the performance of team.
Days later, team manager Ronnie Russell stood down so he could focus on preparations and former Denmark boss Staechmann took over.
"It's nice to see the crowd improving here at Swindon and giving everyone a good reception," said Staechmann
"Ronnie and the track staff have done an incredible job and it bodes well for future meetings here.
"The track is improving every week, I know it was a bit tricky to start with but it turned up some grip and the boys liked it in the end."
