Speedway: Cameron Heeps bound for 'Ipswich Witches'

Ipswich Witches boss Chris Louis has said he expects Mildenhall Fen Tigers star Cameron Heeps to join his team next season.

The 15-year-old Australian has averaged 9.78 points across his seven National League meetings.

And he notched a remarkable total of 18 in Tuesday's win over Isle of Wight.

"He's really enjoyed himself and will make his own decision but at the moment I would like to think he is Ipswich bound," Louis told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"They're a great family and I fully expect him to be lining up in the Premier League with Ipswich next season."

Interest in the Perth-born rider will be high though, but Louis, who is co-promoter at the Tigers, is expecting Heeps to stay in Suffolk.

"I don't think there's a Premier or Elite League team in the country that isn't trying to get hold of Cameron," he said.

"But he's very happy where he is at the moment."
