Manx Grand Prix: Wagstaff quickest in damp conditions

Bedford's Grant Wagstaff posted the fastest lap of the Mountain Course in Thursday's penultimate practice session at the Manx Grand Prix.

The evening's times were affected by damp conditions around the course, but the 45-year-old still posted a lap of 111.003 mph on his 599cc Yamaha.

Douglas racer, Paul Smyth was second fastest (109.046) with Tamworth's Peter Symes (106.927) the fastest Senior.

Meanwhile, Michael Dunlop lapped at 104.283 mph on his Classic Superbike.

Paul Coward was the fastest Classic 500cc on the 1971 Nourish Westlake while Castletown's Chris Palmer set the pace in the 350cc Classic Class on the 1972 Drixon Honda and also topped the Junior Post Classic times on his 1991 Yamaha TZB.

In the Supertwins, newcomer Wayne Hamilton clocked the only 100+mph lap of the evening at 100.117 and Alistair Haworth was posted the best Lightweight lap of the session.

Friday's final practice session will get away at 18:20 BST.
