Rory Schlein tops Leicester's Pride of the Midlands bill

Owner David Hemsley says Leicester have had a tough season

Rory Schlein will be one of a number of Elite League stars in the field for Friday's Pride of the Midlands event at Leicester's Beaumont Park.

Belle Vue's Schlein tops the bill for the first individual event.

And he will be joined by Patrick Hougaard, Ryan Fisher and Ty Proctor - as well as several Leicester riders.

"Rory could be the man to beat but he's never seen Beaumont Park so we'll see if one of our riders gets the better of him," Lions owner David Hemsley said.

"It's great to have some Elite League riders here."

Premier League Riders' Championship rostrum finishers Kauko Nieminen and Ricky Ashworth are both included, along with Nieminen's Leicester team-mates Magnus Karlsson and Henning Bager, and retiring Australian Shane Parker.
