King's Lynn Stars captain Olly Allen has stated his desire to remain with the Elite League side next season.

Norfolk-born Allen, 29, joined the Stars last year after a spell at Ipswich Witches.

"My English season has been everything I've wanted it to be. I'd love to be King's Lynn captain again next year," Allen told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"I'm so proud to walk out as captain. They were the team I supported as a kid, so it's a dream come true really."

Due to speedway regulations Allen does not think he will know until next month whether it will be possible for him to stay.

"I guess early November is when we'll find out what's going on," he added.

"I've mentioned to the management team that I'd like to stay but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

"The rules change every year and they define so much."
