Swedish Grand Prix star Freddie Lindgren has signed his new contract to stay at Wolverhampton for the 2012 Elite League season.

Lindgren, 26, has been riding for the Monmore Green club since 2003, and has agreed a new one-year deal.

He has also confirmed he will be available for the two-legged Elite Shield against Poole in March.

There is just enough time after the second leg to send his bikes to New Zealand for the opening Grand Prix.

"My Grand Prix bikes will go by freight to New Zealand early, but I will be getting in a few meetings in England before flying out," Lindgren noted, "I will be available for our opening meeting at Wolves."

Lindgren and Great Britain international Tai Woffinden will be Wolves' main heat leaders in 2012, with Australian Ty Proctor also retained and club asset Nicolai Klindt returning from Swindon.

US-based Kiwi Ricki Wells is also back from the 2011 line-up, while Wolves have recruited talented young Scandinavians Thomas Jorgensen and Pontus Aspgren as well as Polish star Lukasz Sowka.
