Redcar Bears rider Gary Havelock has said any plans to return to speedway are on hold as he recovers from a serious crash suffered in March.
Havelock, 43, broke an arm, collarbone, shoulder-blade, seven ribs and the sternum in the meeting with Edinburgh and spent time in intensive care.
"It could be anything up to a year before I know if I'm fully healed," Havelock told BBC Look North.
"That's what I'm focused on now, I can think about speedway later on."
The 1992 World Champion began his speedway career in 1985 with Middlesbrough Tigers, and has ridden in the Elite League as well as top flight speedway in Poland and Sweden.
