Simon Mauger and Brian Cammack are aiming for a third consecutive Jersey Rally title, with the 30th running of the event set to start on Thursday.
The duo have won the event three times in the last five years and are top seeds in their Ford Escort Mk2.
Steve Leonard and Sion Humphreys retired on the Saturday morning last year but are expected to be the top Jersey drivers.
More than 80 crews will take on the island's narrow, twisty roads.
The race begins with a night stage along Victoria Avenue on the south coast.
The three-day event will also see stages at Trinity, St John, Bellozanne and Waterworks Valley on Friday.
The champions will be crowned following Saturday's racing in St Ouen, St Brelade, Trinity, St Lawrence and St Mary.
Organisers say it is one of the few rallies left in the country which is still run entirely on public roads.
