Herefordshire biker Chaz Davies is up into second place in the World Superbike Championship after Sunday's double victory in Spain.
The 25-year-old from Presteigne, who is riding for the BMW Motorrad team this season, won both rounds of the World Superbike Championship in Aragon.
Welshman Davies enjoyed his maiden podium finish on the track last year.
"It sets us up nicely for the season," Davies told BBC Hereford & Worcester. "It was amazing. A perfect day."
Davies was named Rookie of the Year in his debut season in 2012, when he won in Germany and finished ninth in the Championship for the ParkinGo Aprilia team.
Having previously been with privately-backed teams in the past, this is Davies's first season with a factory-backed team - and only his second at this level.
"It makes all the difference," he said. "I was hoping for a podium finish but to win was above expectation."
