Colin Turkington got his season off to a good start by winning one of the three races at the opening round of the British Touring Car championship.
The Northern Ireland driver finished eighth in race one at Brands Hatch in his West Surrey Racing team BMW.
The Portadown man improved to third in race two but came home 1.11 seconds ahead of Matt Neal in the third race.
Turkington lies third in the series, three points behind leader Andrew Jordan and two behind Neal.
Jordan took the flag from Jason Plato and Neal in the opening race of the season and completed a double by winning race two ahead of Gordon Shedden and Turkington.
Turkington finished fifth in last year's standings, winning five races along the way.
The next round of the championship will be staged at Donington on 20 April.
