World rally champion Sebastian Ogier led from start to finish to win the season-ending Wales Rally GB.

The Frenchman finished 37.6 seconds ahead of Finland's retiring Mikko Hirvonen for his eighth win in 13 races this year.

Ogier's task was made easier after both his Volkswagen team-mates Andreas Mikkelsen and Jari-Matti Latvala crashed out.

Welshman Elfyn Evans finished fifth after an impressive final stage.

The M-Sport Ford driver concluded his debut season in the World Rally Championship in eighth place.

Kris Meeke of Northern Ireland finished sixth in Wales in his Citroen DS3 and seventh overall in the Championship.
