Well done young man strong effort, clearly a lot of sad salty haters on this thread. Big footsteps to follow but your father would be proud of your accomplishment.
Why is this on the f1 pages? Why is f1 on the sports pages?
bunyrab1t There are some drivers who have proved themselves to be much better test drivers than an F1 race driver Luca Badoer being a great example and perhaps one could add Vandoorne to that list. Ferrari are losing Kyvat and Giovinazzi and although he hasn't proved a good enough race driver Stoffel purely from the fact he has GP experience would make him useful simulator driver & tester.
re222 chritoph. thats not going to happen any time soon. by the time he gets good enough and thats a big IF. Hamilton will have retired into the sunset with 5wdcs or even more
Hope Mick gets up to the top fast enough to give “full of himself Hamilton” a good run for his money.
"Sickening that the BBC value coverage of foreign drivers ahead of British champions"Good to see the BBC being blamed for NOT concentrating on British drivers, makes a change.
Nepotism amongst the rich and famous millionaires is rampant, whether sport, acting luvvies or politicians. Most are just spoilt rich kids and Daddy made his connections in F1 to get him in the best team and fastest car.
In response to 218 all I can say politely is bunyrab1t please read my comment again I said Vandoorne would be under strong consideration for a test and development driver role (not a race seat) alongside a Formula E season I expect . Schumacher Jr could do similar alongside an F2 season I would have thought.
214: Vandoorne has had his chance. And blown it. How much of that is the fault of the not-very-good McLaren is open to question but, given that there are several talented young drivers waiting for a chance, I see no reason why he should get a "second chance".I just hope (without much faith) that neither McLaren nor Williams are responsible for wrecking any more promising careers.
@25 Not quite sure what you are pointing out. its not about age. only one person in your list has been WC.
He must have had the fastest car
202. Posted by F1 forever on2 hours ago@140Hello Jackie Stewart! (Jack Brabham & Ayrton Senna both dead. Nikki Lauda is a fan of LH. Of the other 2, I don't think Nelson Piquet is as bitter and twistedly anti LH ********Aye, eejit! Got it in one. But, son, I'm no anti-Lewis. I'm anti-all-of-them. If they're no Scots, they're crap!
Wouldn't be surprised if he is signed up to the Mercedes of more likely Ferrari junior programme possibly with a simulator/development role now that Giovinazzi and Kyvat are getting a Sauber and STR race drive next year respectively although Stoffel Vanddorne may provide stiff competition in that respect because he already has F1 experience.
204 & 205.You have contradicted yourself. From the following postings of yours, YOU have saidA: Lewis is the greatest of all time. AndB: Lewis was lucky with three of his titles. So is Hamilton the greatest or the luckiest? Make your mind up. Or is it: Ask the audience, 50/50 or phone a friend?Sorry about this question 207.
Lewis i love forever i hope to marry him one day. I hope young shumi will make F1 while Lewis is still driving so he can own him like he owned his overrated father.
