Celtic Dragons opened their 2012 Superleague campaign with a commanding victory over Team Bath in Cardiff.

The visitors led 13-14 after the first quarter, but the Dragons stepped up another gear to race clear in the final stages.

"This campaign is really important to us and I was really nervous before the game," said Dragons coach Melissa Hyndman.

"But my girls were just stronger, fitter and stuck to the game plan."

The Dragons are one of eight franchises to have won a licence to participate in the Superleague over the next four years.

Having played home games in Cwmbran and Wrexham over recent years, they will now be based permanently at the newly-refurbished Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff.
