England lost the international tri-series against Jamaica 2-1 after the hosts secured a 57-47 victory in the final match in Kingston.
The Sunshine Girls won the opener 56-47, but Anna Mayes's side drew on Sunday, in a match that was ended early by a power cut.
The decider was poised at 37-37 going into the final quarter.
But a quick turnover from Jamaica put them ahead and they rallied to take the game by 10 points.
England suffered a similar fate at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the summer, when Jamaica pulled ahead in the dying minutes to win 52-48 and take the bronze medal.
The international series starts the countdown to the World Cup in Sydney in August.
England are ranked third in the world, one place above Jamaica.
