Burren retained their Down SFC title with a 2-14 to 2-3 win over Clonduff at Pairc Esler on Saturday night.

Burren led 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time but an Arthur McConville goal at the start of the second half gave Clonduff hope as they moved to within a point.

Burren pulled away though and goals in quick succession by Sean Murdock and Donal O'Hare increased their advantage.

Jason Brown scored a late consolation goal for Clonduff but Burren will now play Fermanagh champions Roslea.

That Ulster SFC quarter-final is scheduled for Sunday 30 October but that may be rearranged as Burren's man of the match Kevin McKernan is part of Anthony Tohill's Ireland International Rules squad.

For Burren, it was their 13th Down SFC title.
