Paul Braniff scored a goal in an impressive display for Down

Jonathan O'Neill scored four late points to deny Down victory in the NHL Division 2A clash at Newry on Sunday.

The visitors led 0-8 to 0-6 at the break but the Mourne side hit back in the second half with goals from Paul Braniff and Danny Toner.

Down were four points ahead with 10 minutes left before O'Neill slotted over four frees to clinch a draw,

Meanwhile, Derry suffered a 3-19 to 2-13 defeat to Westmeath in their Division 2A game at Celtic Park.
