Cavan remain in danger of relegation from NFL Division Three after suffering a five-point defeat to Roscommon at Dr Hyde Park on Sunday.
The Ulster visitors made a blistering start to the game and a goal from David Givney put the Breffni men in charge.
Cavan led at half-time but the second half belonged to Roscommon and David O'Gara netted as they surged clear.
Cavan will be relegated if they lose their final game against Antrim and Offaly defeat Tipperary.
