Eugene Laverty finished third as only half a race was completed in Sunday's World Superbike round at Monza.
Tom Sykes was the runaway winner with fellow Englishman Leon Haslam second in race two which was halted at halfway as rain returned to the famous circuit.
Half points were awarded for the race in which Jonathan Rea finished sixth.
Laverty, a double winner at Monza last year, had started well in race one but it was abandoned because the conditions were deemed dangerous.
In race two, Kawasaki rider Sykes was lapping around a second faster than his rivals and went on to claim his first win of the season by 9.7 seconds from BMW rider Haslam.
Max Biaggi still heads the WSB standings for 2012 on 97.5 points with Northern Ireland's Rea fifth on 70 and Laverty eighth on 64.
