Derry have received a boost ahead of the Ulster SFC with the news that Glenullin clubman Gerard O'Kane has returned to action after a knee injury.

O'Kane missed most of Derry's league campaign after sustaining the injury in the McKenna Cup final against Tyrone.

He suffered a further setback against Monaghan but featured for the Oak Leafers in a challenge game against Roscommon at Steeltown at the weekend.

Full back Eugene Scullion and centre back Mark Craig also featured.

Derry manager John Brennan looked at 25 players in total as he prepares for the county's Ulster SFC opener against Donegal or Cavan on 16 June.

O'Kane sustained the knee injury in a training session.
