Aodhan Gallagher will be fit to lead Antrim as they take on Monaghan in the Ulster Championship at Clones.

The St Gall's man had been considered doubtful because of a wrist injury but has now been cleared to play in Sunday's last eight clash.

Gallagher is a key man in the Saffrons midfield and his presence will be a boost to team boss Liam Bradley.

The Saffrons team includes championship debutant Mark McAleese, who is named in the half-forward line.

Patrick and Owen Gallagher, Patrick McBride and Ryan Murray are all held in reserve and could all make the Championship bows if they are called upon from the bench.

Gallagher will partner Michael McCann at midfield, with James Loughrey reverting to his familiar right-half back position.

Monaghan captain Darren Hughes has been ruled out by a leg injury and star forward Thomas Freeman is struggling to revover in time from a pulled hamstring.

This is Antrim's first Championship meeting with Monaghan for 22 years.

Last year, both counties failed to progress in the Ulster Championship.

Antrim lost in the preliminary round to eventual winners Donegal while Monaghan were beaten by two points in their first round match away to Tyrone.

Antrim: C Kerr, A Healey, R Johnston, K O'Boyle, T Scullion, J Crozier, J Loughery, M McCann, A Gallagher, C Murray, M Sweeney, M McAleese, P Cunningham, M Magill, T McCann.
