Derry camogs All-Ireland Intermediate title after replay win

Derry's Aileen McCusker attempts to get away from Galway's Paula Kenny

A late Karen Kielt goal helped Derry edge out Galway 2-10 to 2-9 in a thrilling All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Final replay on Saturday.

Galway looked on course for victory at half-time in Ashbourne as they led 2-7 to 0-6 following goals from Ailish O'Reilly and Orlaith Curtin.

However, Katie McAnenly's goal gave Derry hope before Kielt hit the winning three-pointer with a minute left.

The victory promotes Derry to next year's Senior Championship.

The side had drawn 3-12 to 3-12 two weeks ago at Croke Park.
