Reigning Irish Superbike champion Ryan Rainey got his 2016 season off to a winning start by taking victory in both 'big bike' events at the Easter Monday short circuit meeting at Kirkistown.
The IFS Yamaha rider beat Mar-Train Racing mounted Manxman Dan Kneen by just over half a second in race one.
In the second event, Kneen led until the last lap before Rainey passsed to take the flag by 0.168 seconds.
Teenager Jason Lynn scorched to a double in the 600cc Supersport events.
Lynn came out on top in both races, winning from Nikki Coates, Robert Kennedy, Carl Phillips and Christian Elkin in race one, with Kennedy second in race two ahead of Coates, Elkin, Ross Patterson and Phillips.
The second Superbike race of the day turned out to be a thriller, with Rainey, Kneen, Coates and Nico Mawhinney separated by just over half a second as they crossed the line.
Coates, Robert English and Mawhinney had an exciting dice for the final step of the rostrum in race one, with Coates getting the nod almost two seconds behind Kneen.
