Ballymena leave it late against Carrick

Kyle Owens makes the breakthrough after 77 minutes for Ballymena United who stay third in the Premiership after a 2-0 win over Carrick Rangers at the Showgrounds.

Owens finally broke a determined resistance from Carrick before Willie Faulkner made sure of the win with a second in the 89th minute.

Ballymena manager David Jeffrey praised his players for having "great stickability" while Carrick boss Aaron Callaghan described his team's display as the best since he took charge last month.
