Career highlights
Macgregor is skipper of the British crew that won the 2010 World Championships in the new Olympic discipline of match racing. The crew, which also comprises Annie Lush and Macgregor's younger sister Kate, rose to the top of the world rankings in April 2011 and were then runners-up in their defence of the world title.
Career background
She was taken sailing by her parents when only a few weeks old and grew up learning her skills at the Poole Harbour Yacht Club. At the age of 13 she was invited to sail with the national squad.
She joined forces with Annie Lush and Shirley Robertson in 2005 in a doomed bid to qualify for the three-person Yngling class at the Beijing Olympics.
Did you know?
She plays hockey for Bournemouth. Fellow crew member Lush was part of the Cambridge University rowing team that won the 2001 women's boat race.
