Career highlights
The Wolverhampton-based judoka won gold at the 2005 World Championships and 2006 European Championships, becoming the first Briton since Neil Adams in 1983 to hold both titles simultaneously. He also won gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
Career lowlights
Fallon announced his retirement on 30 January 2012, thereby missing a third shot at an Olympic medal. His two Olympic appearances have ended in disappointment. Tipped to win Britain's first medal in Beijing, he finished seventh after losing in the second round and was criticised in the British press for attributing his failure to tiredness.
Other career
Fallon took a two-year break from the sport after the 2008 Olympics, returning to international competition in 2011. He has stepped up in weight to the under 66kg category but was knocked out of the World Championships in Paris in his first fight.
