UK Athletics boss hails Stadium decision
- From the section Olympics
Ed Warner, chairman of UK Athletics, hails the "bold and decisive move" to keep the Olympic Stadium in public ownership, rather than selling it to a football club.
Warner says it will now be possible to give a "cast-iron assurance" to world athletics governing body the IAAF that the 2017 World Championships can be delivered in London as hoped.
Hebelieves West Ham would be good partners if they were to put a bid in to lease the stadium, at an expected cost of £2m per year.
