Poole's world number one Paralympic table tennis player Will Bayley has been selected for the 2012 Games.
The British Paralympic Association confirmed the first 10 table tennis players have been selected for Paralympics GB at London 2012.
The 10 players have all qualified by right through regional championships and world-ranking lists and are one of the youngest squads in the world.
"I'm really happy about my selection," Bayley told BBC Radio Solent.
Bayley, who competes in class seven, added: "I can't wait for London 2012, the team are going to do really well and we are very well prepared.
"It's all come around so quickly, and this makes it very real."
Bayley admitted that he expected selection but refused to say he was favourite for gold despite his ranking as the world number one.
"I kind of expected selection because I am world number one," he added.
"It's hard to say you are going to get a gold at a Paralympics because the competition is so strong. China are always very strong so we will see how well I do."
Bayley could still be joined by up to four more athletes later in the year.
