Belfast cyclist David McCann will have to wait longer to learn whether he is going to compete at his third Olympics in London.
Cycling Ireland did select McCann for the Olympic Road Race along with Daniel Martin and Nicolas Roche last week but Matt Brammeier has launched an appeal saying that he should be included.
Brammeier currently holds the Irish Road Race and Time Trial titles.
A final decision on the Irish selection is expected before next Friday.
A five-person selection panel will consider whether Brammeier has grounds for an appeal.
If it decides that Brammeier has a case, the original three-person selection panel will be asked to consider the case again.
In addition to nominating Martin, Roche and McCann, Cycling Ireland also picked Sam Bennett as reserve.
One of the three selected riders will also compete in the time trial in London.
