Morpeth Harriers runner Laura Weightman has spoken of her delight at qualifying for the Great Britain squad at the 2012 Olympic games in London.
"To come here, win and get into the Olympics is unbelievable. I felt so good," Weightman told BBC Sport.
"I wanted to push hard on the last lap to make sure I secured my place."
She continued: "I can't believe it, I'm going to the Olympics."
Weightman beat Lisa Dobriskey, a veteran of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, into second place at Birrmingham's Alexandra Stadium and afterwards paid tribute to mentor Steve Cram - who was watching from the BBC commentary box.
"Steve's had a huge impact on me," she added.
"We've been working together for a few years now, all the experience he's got is huge.
"Learning from him is an inspiration."
