Great Britain's hopes of reaching the Olympic women's volleyball quarter-finals took a major knock as they were beaten 3-0 by the Dominican Republic.

But Britain, ranked 69th in the world, could still make the last eight by beating Japan in their final Pool A match at Earls Court on Sunday.

The United States secured top spot in Pool B as they beat Serbia 3-0.

South Korea are second in that group despite losing 3-2 to Turkey, while defending Olympic champions Brazil kept their qualification hopes alive with a 3-2 win over China.

Elsewhere in Great Britain's group, leaders Russia beat Japan 3-1, while second-placed Italy were 3-0 winners against Algeria.
