European Games 2015: Genevieve Randall swaps exams for Baku
Synchronised swimmer Genevieve Randall admits preparing for competition in a multi-sports event will be a welcome distraction from her exams.
Randall, 17, from Faringdon in Oxfordshire, is swapping A levels for Azerbaijan and the European Games.
On Saturday, she will compete in her first solo event in Baku, days after putting down her revision notes.
"I've done my best, we'll just to wait until the results come out in August," Randall told BBC Radio Oxford.
While Randall puts her recent studies at King Alfred's Academy in Wantage to the back of her mind, she will compete in the solo category in Baku as well as alongside duets partner Jodie Cowie.
"It will be my first multi-sport event of my career," she added.
"It will be really amazing to take in the atmosphere of an athletes' village.
"It's also going to be an opportunity to progress towards other events this year and next with the goal towards qualification for Rio and the Olympics."
Once Randall returns from Azerbaijan, she will head to Spain for a training camp with coach Lolli Montico and the rest of the GB squad before the World Championships in Russia at the end of July.
