Christoph Harting wins Olympic discus gold

Germany's Christoph Harting threw a personal best 68.37m in the final round to win the Olympic discus gold medal.

The 26-year-old claimed his first major medal from Poland's Piotr Malachowski, who managed 67.55m

Harting's fellow German Daniel Jasinski won bronze with a throw of 67.05m.

Harting is the younger brother of Robert, the three-time world champion who was unable to defend his Olympic crown after injuring his back in qualifying.
