Argentina beat Germany to reach men's hockey final

Argentina will face Belgium in the Olympic men's hockey final on Thursday.

The South Americans beat defending champions Germany 5-2 to reach the final for the first time.

Argentina took a 5-0 lead thanks to a Gonzalo Peillat hat-trick of penalty corners and strikes from Joaquin Menini and Lucas Vila.

Belgium beat neighbours Netherlands 3-1 in the other semi-final, with Jerome Truyens, JJ Dohmen and Florent van Aubel scoring.

Germany will face the Netherlands in the bronze-medal match at 16:00 BST on Thursday, with Belgium meeting Argentina for gold at 21:00 BST.
