GB rowing: Devon rower Lucas selected for British squad
Bill Lucas has been selected as part of the Great Britain rowing squad for the World Championships in South Korea.
The 25-year-old from Exeter will compete in the men's double scull alongside Matt Langridge.
The pair will be hoping to build on the bronze medal they won at the World Rowing Cup at Eton Dorney in June.
It was the second medal of the season for Lucas after he won a gold in the quadruple scull at the opening World Cup of the season in Sydney.
"Lucerne was useful in that it gave us a baseline from which to move forward," said GB Rowing team performance director Sir David Tanner.
"This year has all been about giving new, young rowers their chance at the top alongside our more experienced names.
"So we should not expect big fireworks in Korea, but this team still has the talent to sparkle."
The eight-day regatta takes place from 25 August to 1 September.
