Richard Chambers cruises into European Championship final
Coleraine's Richard Chambers is through to Sunday's lightweight double sculls final at the European Championships after a comfortable semi-final win.
Chambers and Englishman Will Fletcher produced another impressive display in Poland to win by over four seconds from Norway with Ireland in third.
Enniskillen's Leonora Kennedy could only manage fifth in her women's pair semi-final in Poznan.
Kennedy and her partner Monika Dukarska will race in the B final.
The Irish duo were fifth and over 25 seconds adrift of winners, the Netherlands.
Chambers and Fletcher are competing in their first international regatta together as they begin their Road to Rio campaign.
They dominated the race from start to finish in a time of 6:16.83 - Ireland's Gary and Paul O'Donovan are also through to the final.
The closest challengers for the Great Britain pair are likely to be France with Stany Delayre and Jeremie Azou winning the other semi-final in 6:16.55.
Peter Chambers and fellow Coleraine rower Joel Cassells had already qualified for the final of the non-Olympic class lightweight pair.
Peter had an injury-plagued winter but teamed up with Cassells on Friday as they led all the way to win in a time of 6:50.14 to move directly to Sunday's final.
