St Helens joint-captain Paul Wellens says the Saints will improve now that players are returning from injury.
James Roby, Lee Gaskell and Jonny Lomax are amongst a host of players who have missed part of the campaign.
"Throughout the course of the season there's been a lot made of injuries," Wellens told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"We've got players back week by week, but now they've a few games under their belts and with that you become a different force to be reckoned with."
Saints lost 35-28 to Warrington on Friday, but Wellens believes the side's performance was very encouraging.
"We are a team to be reckoned with. We could have folded when we went 18-0 behind but we dug deep.
"The supporters can be confident that we can build on that performance."
Following defeat at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, St Helens are now five points behind the Wolves in the race for the Super League Leader's Shield.
