Castleford have signed Rob Parker on a month's loan from Salford.
Cas have moved for the 30-year-old former Reds skipper after losing first-choice props Craig Huby and Jonathan Walker to season-ending knee injuries.
Parker, who is out of contract with the Reds at the end of the season, did not sign in time for Friday's home date with Warrington.
"He's not been able to get into the side at Salford and he's got a point to prove," said Cas coach Terry Matterson.
"So it's good to have him on board. He's going to get an opportunity because he's played at this level before and he has plenty to play for."
Parker will make a quick return to the North West as he is likely to make his Castleford debut in next Wednesday's rearranged Super League game at champions Wigan.
One added bonus for Cas is that he is eligible to play in their Challenge Cup quarter-final at home to neighbours Huddersfield on Sunday 24 July.
Parker is free to play as he did not feature for Salford in either of their two Challenge Cup ties in this season's competition.
