Huddersfield Giants centre Joe Wardle has signed a new contract that will see him remain at the club until at the end of the 2014 season.
The 19-year-old, who is in his first season for the Giants, has made 10 first-team appearances so far.
"I'm over the moon and I'm very grateful to Huddersfield for giving me the opportunity," said Wardle.
"I feel my performances have been good. I'm just taking it game by game, going out there and showing what I can do."
Wardle signed from Bradford Bulls in September 2010 and continued his impressive Giants form on Sunday, with a try in the 40-12 victory over Crusaders.
Giants head coach Nathan Brown said: "Joe forced his way into the first team through his good form.
"Since he came to the club in the off-season, he has worked hard and he looks a bright player not only for now but also for the future.
"He put in a good pre-season and that has transferred to the field, forcing his way into the team off the back of working hard on his game both at training and through his own off-field life, doing the things that are required.
"He is definitely an aggressive player in defence and from an attacking point of view he is a good line runner."
