Widnes coach Denis Betts says his players deserve much credit for their good form following Sunday's 36-22 victory over Dewsbury.

The Vikings are fourth in the Championship and in the play-off hunt.

"We're seven games unbeaten and things are looking alright for the lads," Betts told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"We've worked hard over the last couple of months to make sure we stay on a roll. If we end up in a play-off place then that's fantastic."

He added: "The hardest thing is we've got to have another week off, then we've got to travel to Toulouse, which is going to be another tough fixture especially away in the south of France.

"Then we'll play Batley here and by that stage we'll have a fair idea where we can aim to finish in the table.

"We're aiming for the play-off places."
