Widnes have signed hooker Scott Moore on a three-year deal from St Helens ahead of their return to Super League.
Moore, 23, played 73 times for Saints, scoring 10 tries and spent loan spells at Castleford in 2008 and Huddersfield in 2009.
"In my opinion, he is definitely one of the best hookers in Super League," said Widnes coach Denis Betts.
"For somebody so young, he has a tremendous amount of first-team experience under his belt."
In 2004, Moore made his first senior appearance for Saints at the age of 16 and is still the youngest player to debut in Super League.
He was also a member of the 2009 Super League dream team and in the same year he made his full international debut for England.
Betts continued: "Scott has regularly played at the highest level and competed in the play-offs, a Grand Final, a Challenge Cup final and on the international stage.
"To recruit a player of his pedigree is another massive step forward for the club and I'm certain he'll be the backbone of the team for many a year."
Moore is the Vikings' 13th new recruit ahead of their return to Super League for 2012.
He joins Ben Cross, Hep Cahill, Shaun Briscoe, Patrick Ah Van, Ben Davies, Lloyd White, Chris Dean, Frank Winterstein, Willie Isa, Jon Clarke, Rhys Hanbury and Anthony Watts in signing for the club.
