Huddersfield Giants have signed half-back or hooker Tommy Lee from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on a one-year deal.

It follows which was confirmed on Tuesday.

Lee, 23, who had a year left on his Wildcats deal, told BBC Radio Leeds: "With the type of team they are I thought it would be a good move.

"The coach's track record with players in my position is good and he's made a few into internationals."

Lee added: "Any type of improvement will only benefit me as a player, and they're a team full of internationals so playing and training with better people each day can only improve me."

Lee spent four years at Hull FC and one season at Crusaders before moving to Wakefield, and admitted he was not guaranteed a first-team place with the Giants.

"I think Huddersfield rotate their squad a little bit and I think it's just about me taking my chance when I get one.

"It's going to be really difficult, but obviously I was under contract at Wakefield and they've made a point of signing me so hopefully they want me for a reason."

Lee is also hoping he can help his new side win silverware after they missed out in the Super League play-offs last season.

"Every player wants to win things and that's what excited me about the offer," he said. "They're a top-four team and when they keep all the players fit they're going to be challenging for trophies and hopefully I can be a part of that."
