Hull FC hooker Aaron Heremaia will be fit for the start of the campaign after undergoing wrist surgery and missing the start of pre-season.
The 28-year-old Kiwi, who joined from New Zealand Warriors, has been recuperating in his homeland.
FC coach Peter Gentle told BBC Radio Humberside: "He's recovering from wrist surgery so there's no point him being here yet.
"He'll be right to train and will be here on Friday."
The New Zealand international struggled with a wrist injury last season whilst helping the Warriors to the NRL Grand Final.
He is one of seven new signings made by the Black and Whites ahead of the 2012 season.
Heremaia left the Warriors after spending three seasons at the club and has previous experience of playing in England having had spells with Leigh, Widnes and Halifax.
