Widnes hooker Scott Moore has called for caution going into the Vikings' return to Super League this season.
The 23-year-old signed from St Helens in the close season along with 12 other recruits, with the club retaining 10 of their squad from last season.
Widnes' first match of the campaign will be against Wakefield next month.
"It's going to be a tough year and a lot of the boys in the squad have come from the national league," Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside.
He added: "They've got a point to prove and they're going to relish the chance to play Super League. We're not going to put markers or figures on the season.
"It's going to be tough in the first couple of games as we've been thrown together from various squads and leagues.
"We're not looking too far ahead and we're all training together well. Once we get our cohesiveness, that's when things will start taking shape."
