Steve Menzies will end his career at Catalan Dragons after he signed a one-year extension to his current deal at the Stade Gilbert Brutus.

The 38-year-old, who is the oldest player in Super League, helped Catalans to consecutive play-off campaigns following his move from Bradford.

"Happy to announce I've just signed with Catalan Dragons for one last season," Menzies posted on Twitter.external-link

"Really excited about the future of league here in France."

Menzies, a New South Wales Origin representative, left hometown club Manly to join Bradford in 2009 having lifted his first NRL Championship at the fifth attempt.

He then spent two seasons at Odsal before his switch to the south of France in the winter of 2010, where his performances were enough to earn a place in the 2011 Super League Dream Team.

Trent Robinson, who brought Menzies to the club, will leave Catalan and the head coach post remains vacant.
