What are you smokin', Qcumbor?
Just been watching Huddersfield destroy Saints!Loved watching Paul Anderson in the big Bradford forward pack of Peacock, Vagana and Fielden and looks like he's set on doing something similar at the Giants!
A simple game played by simple people for simple folk! After all the hysteria of doping in cycling I don't believe for 1 second that many of these players aren't using steroids n god knows what else
Well the Wales Ireland game was more exciting than the Leeds Hull game, and played at a more frantic pace, IMHO. I watch both codes, whenever they're on, and Sevens. As I write, I'm sitting through the dirges before the Calcutta Cup; let's hope the League world cup can manage their TV coverage better than last year, and as well as Superleague
Great to have Super League back but I do agree about Stevo. It's no wonder he's not a coach - his comments in play and decision calling are appalling. Replace him and Eddie Hemmings, the worst match commentators on TV, rambling on while missing crucial action on the pitch. And was there a challenge last night to say 'marquee signing' in every sentence?
The rugby on show is fantastic. The crowds are the biggest they have ever been. Tv viewing figures are big. Why is there always this insistance on finding things wrong with our sport. I'm also tired of Stevo's rants on every single game he commentates on. Moans about the ref, moans about player decision making. Just tired of his 'grumpy' opinion that spoils the great game on show. Replace him.
Perhaps the difference between League and Union is the sycophantic journalists who write about RU. In every article on RL there is always a sideways glance at what a good game it is followed closely by a but, or However. You have to question the timing of the BBC programme if there had been any likely sponsors to the Super League I bet they have run a mile now.
I did say that they may have run out of steam. But it was the first match of the season. If there is a difference in fitness levels this early on it's either worrying for Hull or the rest of us if Leeds are that much fitter, even if they did have more ball. Hull, to me, didn't defend as well after 2nd try. They were brilliant for 60mins, so hats off to them, and it's not a sprint etc
It's a bit harsh saying that Hull gave up; the first half took a lot out of them and when McShane comes on at hooker with Burrow switching to the backs it's always likely to mean points when you're tired.
15 tries in 2 games. Wonder if the 6 nations borefest will get that many in the whole tournament? And they'll have at least half the games being one sided. Disappointed in both Salford & Hull though. Hull gave up after Leeds second try, although they could've run out of steam. Salford just didn't seem to bother at all.
But i just don't understand why RL isn't allowed to grown in the South. Just think if it was allowed and promoted down there. We could have North VS South style State Of Origin. Just think about the passion, intensity, hits, speed and skill that these matches would provide. Oh, how I long for the day when that happens, even though it may never. Here's to hoping eh?
Can I just ask all of the union fans on here, what do you think of State Of Origin?? Because the speed, skill level and pure excitement are miles ahead of any Union game I've ever watched. Don't get me wrong I still watch England RU the majority of the time when on TV, purely on the basis that I'm a proud Englishmen, and I'll always support my nation in any sporting event for that reason.
What on earth prompted that diatribe of none sense from number 43 Downunder????
Australia, NZ or UK its all the same, League fans have a giant sized chip on the shoulder and love to tell you constantly how great their sport is and how rubbish other sports are, any Rugby or Aussie Rules fan will tell you that. If League fans worried more about their sport and less about others maybe you and your game would be more endearing to a wider audience!!
Great start to the season, but I think that one of the reasons rugby league struggles to fire the public imagination is the apparently one-sided nature of so many games. The 36-6 final score line from Hedingley hides the fact that at half time, such a score line looked quite unlikely. And in the other codes, Scotland play England in New Zealand 7s in a couple of hours...
Farrell barely got into Saracens 2nds. Keiran Cunnigham, one proper scrummaging session and he ran back to RL.Seems Farrell knows a bit more about coaching than Johnson and Andrew though! The statue of Cunnningham is there because he turned down ££ and stayed LOYAL. Carter is moving to London. He'll qualify for England under residency rules in 6 months. English in Union- ANYONE for HIRE.
