Super League Castleford Tigers have entered into a dual registration partnership with Championship side Keighley Cougars for the 2013 season.

The club said the agreement would give playing opportunities to fringe players, as well as offer a channel for upcoming Cougars players at the Tigers.

Tigers' players Jake Emmitt and Charlie Martin played for the Cougars against Whitehaven on Sunday.

Subject to agreement up to five Tigers players can play for the Cougars.

They can be called back to play for Castleford at any point.

The agreement does not cover players holding a visa, after the UK Border Agency told Leeds Rhinos that forward Kylie Leuluai could not play for the Hunslet Hawks last week.

Castleford Head of Youth Development Steve Gill said: "The partnership enables us to give valuable game time to some of our upcoming talents in a good competition, while allowing us to support the Cougars aims to be a more competitive force in the Championship."
