Prop Gil Dudson has become the latest Wigan forward to be sidelined by injury after breaking his hand in Friday's 18-14 defeat at Leeds Rhinos.
The 22-year-old Wales international is likely to be out for around six weeks.
The Warriors are already without and to long-term injury.
But there is better news on full-back Sam Tomkins, who with a knee problem but will be fit to face Widnes on Saturday.
On Dudson's injury, Wigan head coach Shaun Wane said: "Gil is a good player and a good bloke. It is a blow and I do feel sorry for him.
"He was in good form but I suppose the good thing is when he does return he will be nice and fresh with the cup competitions, so there is a positive there," he told the club website.
